My great friend Tiana Lebeau has worked hard to set up a brand new website offering the best deals and eBook finds. Here is what she had to say about the site:

"Hi! Welcome to Digi Book Deals the newest most varied book site on the web!

After searching for a long time, we found no other site that offers deals from all E-Reading Venues. If the site has books, chances are there is a free ereading software you can download to read the books on. This has led some of our contributors to have four or five ereader software platforms on their computers, tablets and phones. Talk about a diversified library!

So, today you found Digi Book Deals and on it you will see both new and established authors, featured on our site. Some will be by the request of the author, many will not be. On the upcoming reviews site, you’ll find objective, honest reviews. In time, we’ll allow and encourage our readers to get involved by offering reviews of books as well. Can’t be a community that features YOU and your thoughts.

So, sit back, enjoy and find a good book or two."

Check it out HERE

"Many believe that Fantasy is all about epic quests and fights with monsters, wizards and such like. But I always believed that Fantasy can also tackle real life issues and problems as much as any other genre. That’s not to say that you can’t have big battles and epic quests – heck, I wouldn’t write Fantasy if I didn’t enjoy that myself. But at the same time, I also think that characters are important to any story – and if you don’t make your characters believable and fleshed out, then it doesn’t matter how good your story is, no one will enjoy reading about it."

It was actually back at my old school. I wrote and drew (by that I mean vaguely sketched something) my own comic called “The Abbey School Avenger”. I went into novel writing around 2007."

Here is an excerpt from the interview...

"1. Legacy of the DragonKin is the sequel to Trapped on Draconica. Did you have any troubles at all when first writing the sequel? I know a lot of authors (myself included) tend to have some problems at first with the transition and tackling that in the first couple chapters.

I won’t lie, Legacy of the Dragonkin has gone through a TON of re-writes to get to this stage — and I changed the idea for the story several times before I was happy with it. The original sequel was going to be much darker than this one, but I changed it as it was too overly depressing and I felt that I still kinda needed an upbeat kinda tone.

In the end though, I think it turned out ok. I think the problem is when you’re writing a sequel is that, in its own way, it needs to be its own standalone story as well as continuing the storyline (if that makes any sense), so you need to make sure that new readers can understand what’s going on, without needing to read the previous book, and that old readers can follow on with the characters. It’s a hard balance, but hopefully I did that right with this one!"

"Next to the panda, orangutans are my favourite type of wild animal. There is just something quite comical about them, the fact that they look so completely gormless and silly, and yet are actually one of the more intelligent creatures out there, able to use tools in much the same way that humans can. A funny story I heard from a mate once was that if you gave an orangutan a camera, they would take it apart, eat the most important part and then put it back together again. Probably why you don’t see a lot of orangutans working for camera shops!"

Dan: Hello Mathew. My name is Dan Wright, I live in Canterbury, UK (have been for most of my life). I work a part time job to pay the bills and write, read and watch films and TV in my spare time. When I was in school, I wrote my own comic called “The Abbey School Avenger” and originally I wanted to write my own comics – but seeing how much I suck at art, I decided to go into writing books."

Mainly because I grew up reading a lot of Fantasy novels – Lord of the Rings, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, lots of Roald Dahl novels and the like. "One of the key components of my stories Trapped on Draconica, and later Legacy of the Dragonkin are the Dragonkin themselves. The Dragonkin are four sisters that were granted powers of the last dragon, Dronor, before his death. Dragons have played an important part in the history of the planet Draconica, having learned the secrets of travelling from one world to the next – creating life on their own world based on those very worlds. They are the equivalent to gods on Draconica. The Dragonkin were created so that the memories of the dragons would never be forgotten. The Dragonkin will also play an important role in the future of Draconica – even if they themselves do not know it."

Benji Dragonkin aspires to be a hero, just like his mother - Queen Daniar Dragonkin. He wants to become a famous warrior so that he can save the day - and win the heart of his long time friend, Lydia Taurok. But with his mother being overly protective of him, and a dark side to his father that threatens to tear their family apart, Benji has a long way to go just yet.

Zarracka Dragonkin, still a prisoner of Daniar, plots her revenge against her sister - and Benji may just be the key to her victory.

And in the land of Drewghaven, the Kthonian Knights arise once more, determined to once again bring forth their revenge against the men of the world. Their leader, Jihadain, seeks to settle old scores with Daniar - and break her spirit in the process.

With villains gathering and allies faltering, Benji sees this as a chance to prove himself a true warrior. But even more harrowing is a warning that his mother receives, forshadowing a greater evil:

Blurb: Aside from his outward appearance, Kobi is a normal thirteen-year-old boy. Living with his mother, his father, and his identical twin brother, Raili, with whom he spends most days at the cove watching dolphins and whales feed, he is happy with his life just the way it is. But his fourteenth birthday is coming and Kobi has no idea how much his life is about to change.

When Raili is pulled through a puddle in the floor of their second floor bedroom by a monster armed with poisonous, spiked tentacles, Kobi goes in after him. What he finds isn’t Raili, but a new world all together, buried beneath the ocean. With a bounty on his head that has been there since he and Raili’s birth, Kobi will have to learn to fight or die before he can be reunited with Raili again. Everything he knew to be true was a lie.

People he loved and trusted are not who they seem. He isn’t the normal boy he thought himself to be. A transformation is coming. Raili is gone. Blood is shed. Traitors lurk, waiting for their chance. War is inevitable. The fate of the world of Airion rests in his hands. The Wiseone speaks. Failure is certain.
“Although I didn’t fully commit to making writing my life’s work until my sophomore year of college, I have always been a writer at heart. I was the only student in class to get excited about school papers, even asking to write a few for extra credit on occasion. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in Creative Writing – Fiction. After graduating, I moved to Japan where I wrote most of my debut novel, Airion: Return to Zire and all of my second novel Airion: Light and Dawn – the first two of a four book series. Japan was a peaceful place to just sit and write, but life in Japan was also filled with adventure. However much I loved it there, I had to return home to do what I love most. Write.”
"Adrian stared at the self-professed rebel with a blank expression on his face. If the man had said two-headed aliens, he could not have been more surprised. “You’re not smugglers.”

"We’re free traders,” said Trey. There was a confident lift of his head, as if the title were a uniform he wore proudly.

“Smugglers with a different name,” he said dismissively, twisting his wrists in the cuffs, trying to ease the spreading numbness. Knowing who these people were did not tell him if they intended to honor an agreement bound only by commerce.

Trey leaned forward, his fingers tensing around the grip, aiming a little too close to Adrian’s head. “We’re free traders.”"

Each moment is full of emotion, action and much more. As I continued to read The Empire I learned about the grisly practices and methods of force that subjugated even their elite. The portrait of fear, enforcement and certainty of these in this environment reminded me of Star Trek’s Mirror Universe."

The Empire is an original piece of romantic sci-fi novel. The world is coming to an end and the invasion of aliens has begun. Enter Adrian who was enlisted to help the government to fight these aliens as a scientist. Adrian refuses and decides to hide with Kali, a humanoid. From here, it seems as if Adrian may have forsaken his responsibilities for his own freedom but as the readers read on, they would realize that not everything is as it seems. A noble intention when misplaced and misused can cause the suffering of others. With this action-packed plot, the readers are always kept on suspense as they filled themselves with questions on their mind. Will Adrian finally gives up and finishes the project as the government desires or can he live the life he desires with Kali by his side? Will mankind survive this invasion? All these questions act as stimuli for the reader to continue reading and find the answers to their questions.

In other words, it deeply involves the readers with the development of the characters. Despite sci-fi not being one of my favorite genres, it surprises me that I cannot stop myself from flipping the pages until I finally finished reading the last page. The sci-fi elements are quite mild and graspable which suit beginner sci-fi readers. At the same time, the author has managed to inspire an interest in me to give sci-fi books a chance. This is indeed a series that is worth my time and I am certain that the next installment will not be a disappointment.

"The Empire is a saga of intergalactic travel and war, and an Empire that will do whatever is needed to make sure they're the victors, even destroying the one scientist who might be able to save them all. I found myself drawn to these characters. To Adrian who had such a thick mental wall surrounding him, it was impossible to see inside, to Kali whose tender care Adrian found himself in and craving, to Sester, the cruel psychostrategist who'd use everyone and anything to achieve his goals, no matter the consequences, literally. If you find yourself drawn to stories of space travel, to epic stories, then this might be the read for you. Throw in a growing love story, and romance readers have a reason to pick this one up too. I very much enjoyed this seemingly quick read, and recommend it to others who enjoy the genre. "

"With the security pass, Argus breezed through the customs checkpoint with his sullen prisoner in tow. Sparkling holiday banners announced ‘Tepetime Festival’ in large, cursive letters. Everyone sported eye-bleeding shades of red. He kept his head down and shoved his charge forward as curious passersby did a bad job of not staring at them while whispering to each other.

A child of about five pointed as the two men passed a row of concession stands. “Mommy, who’s that man?”

The curly-haired mother, with a huge sack of purchases with a designer label clearly visible in bright neon colors, pulled the child closer to her leg. “Don’t stare at the bad man. It’s impolite.”

The bad man glared at them with his one good eye like a cyclopean beacon, and the child hid behind his mother.

“You’re scaring the kids,” Argus said under his breath.

"I wouldn’t want to be accused of false advertising,” the Cyclops said icily."

"This is the second book of the Empire series and it succeeds in continuing a much anticipated, anxiety ridden, fabulously written Science Fiction adventure. This is the type of book that the want to walk away from the book to eat, sleep, or play is just not there, but you know that if you had to leave then sinking back into the novel is not hard. "

"The hover bike ran silently under a blanket of darkness, dropping out of the skies from upper lanes restricted to Security personnel and emergency vehicles. The bounty hunter twisted the handle accelerator and the bike jerked forward. In the back, trussed up like a piece of luggage, a sullen Adrian grunted as the wind whipped around him, flapping his loose jacket. Lights and buildings flashed by in an upside-down blur. He was getting light-headed.

The bounty hunter avoided the general traffic, weaving behind back alleys and side streets. He parked in a dark corner behind The Sleepy
Goat, next to a green garbage disposal bin. The stench of rotting meat and spilled alcohol mixed with a generous splash of human waste.

Not an efficient recycling system if they dispose of biodegradable materials in this fashion, thought Adrian. Boisterous sounds from the bar covered their approach."
