RBTL Tours Presents: In Interview With Jaimie Hope

Where did you come up with the idea for your new book?

This book was inspired by a true life event, but it was highly fictionalized.

How did you come up with your characters?

They were modeled after real people.

Who did you show your first draft to and why?

I didn’t show it to anyone.

Do you have plans to a follow up?

Book 2, Somebody Must Be Praying For Me is releasing sometime this spring.

Open your book to a random page and tell us the first paragraph…

"Just like the day before, the next morning seemed to come as soon as she closed her eyes. That was the thing she hated most about being back home again. Unlike the day before, she didn’t try to convince herself she would be back home soon. This is home, she told herself."

What is your favorite movie?

Grease

What do you like to read?

At the moment I’m interested in reading true life stories, or at least, stories that claim to be based on true life events.

Where do you go to escape?

I don’t think there’s anywhere in the galaxy an author can go to escape. My mind is always with me.

Do you have any pets?

No

What advice do you have for aspiring writers?

Before signing any contract DO YOUR HOMEWORK! Check out any and all companies thoroughly. Check them out with the BBB and Google them. Read reviews of books published by that company on Amazon and GoodReads. If possible, talk to authors in the company to get their opinion on the company.

Would you recommend self publishing or main stream publishing for first time novelists?

I would recommend self-publishing to any writer of any genre simply because of the level of control over the final outcome of the manuscript is higher if you self-publish.
